The Hope Prophecy

Updated: May 7, 2020

Throughout this epidemic, this prophecy I stumbled upon a long time ago continues to cycle through my head over and over. I see its relevance show up in my life, and the lives of the people I talk to. The analogies that this prophecy discusses is so powerful right now. Our distractions have been turned off from the real and true values we avoid addressing in our personal lives. Our life as we have created it is blatantly in our face right now. The prophecy reads as follows:

We Are the Ones We’ve Been Waiting For

– by The Hopi Elders

You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour,

now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.

And there are things to be considered…

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

What are your relationships?

Are you in right relation?

Where is your water?

Know your garden.

It is time to speak your truth.

Create your community.

Be good to each other.

And do not look outside yourself for your leader.

He clasped his hands together, smiled, and said,

“This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast.

It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.

They will try to hold on to the shore.

They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore,

push off into the middle of the river,

keep our eyes open,

and our heads above the water.

And I say,

see who is in there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history,

we are to take nothing personally,

least of all ourselves.

For the moment that we do,

our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

The time of the one wolf is over.

Gather yourselves!

Banish the word ’struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

This is poem or prophecy is so powerful. I want to disect pieces of this over the next week and share with you as this shows up in so many capacities and conversations I have each day.

I want to talk about the power of time for a minute and what we create with it. I want you to see that we use the term "someday" as a timeline for so many important things. Our "someday" can sometimes be a wastebasket timeline for our goals. Let's face it. Our dreams and goals can scare the crap out of us if we actually had them show up. When we settle for less we shut down what we think we can achieve or receive. Our dreams are a contribution to the world around us and when we're lit up about them, we should resignate excitement with the people around us.

Something has happened in all of our lives recently. Our planet is closed. Like, Planet Earth told us to go home and our government is paying us to do it. REALLY wrap your brain around that! What cosmic force has to culminate together and cause this stopping point? What are you going to take out of all this?

Where are you at right now? Where we sit is the culmination of choices that we have made at this stopping point. I have conversations with a multitude of situations; people's relationships in quarantine come to the surface, people that are alone in this, people that finally get to spend time with their family and kids and they can sit down and have a family dinner together... And I bring you back to this verse:

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

I ask you personally, what hard choices and strengths did you use to give you the places and spaces where you are most proud? Celebrate that. What strengths do you need to get you to the next level?

We're going deep in this. Til tomorrow my friends,

Janie
